LEXINGTON, Ky., — University of Kentucky Forestry and Natural Resources Extension’s weekly online program, “From the Woods Today,” delves into a wide range of topics in March, offering relevant and interesting information about woodlands and wildlife each Wednesday at 11 a.m. ET.

The program streams on the online, social conferencing platform Zoom and on Facebook Live. Hosts Billy Thomas and Reneé Williams, UK extension forester and information specialist, respectively, welcome UK specialists who share their vast knowledge of Kentucky’s forests and the creatures that call them home.

March’s episodes include:

March 10: Part 7 of the ongoing Forestry 101 series and a discussion of ice damage brought on by recent winter storms.

March 17: The UK Wood Utilization Center at UK’s Robinson Center for Appalachian Resource Sustainability.

March 24: Pesticide safety and herbicide use.

March 31: The economic contribution of Kentucky’s forest industry.

All episodes include the Tree of the Week section.

Participants will receive a prompt to install Zoom, if they haven’t already done it. When asked for an identification number, sign in as a guest.
