UK Family Center to host Hold Me Tight workshop for employees
University of Kentucky employees and their significant others can strengthen their relationships through a new couples workshop from the UK Family Center and Human Resources’ Work-Life program.
The Hold Me Tight workshop is April 13-14 at UK’s W. T. Young Library. The workshop runs from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. both days. It will be led by Tracey Werner-Wilson, a licensed marriage and family therapist and director of the UK Family Center, which is a part of the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment.
The workshop aims to strengthen and deepen relationships by improving communication skills between couples. The workshop, developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, is designed around seven conversations from her “Hold Me Tight” book that are proven to be essential to successful relationships. Through presentations, private exercises, video demonstrations and partner conversations, couples will learn how to improve their relationships.
Due to generous sponsorships from Cammack Retirement and The MPM Group LLC, the Family Center and Work-Life are able to offer the workshop for $75 per couple. Registration is limited to the first 10 couples and is filled on a first come, first served basis. Childcare will be provided on Saturday, April 14.
