Registration open for UK’s July Spray Clinic

The clinic is July 15. Registration closes July 13.

PRINCETON, Ky.—

The University of Kentucky will host a spray clinic July 15 at the UK Research and Education Center in Princeton as part of its Kentucky Agricultural Training School

During the clinic, UK College of Agriculture, Food and Environment specialists will conduct demonstrations and provide participants with hands-on experiences to help them learn the latest in spray application technology.

“We hope to simplify the very complex process of pesticide applications and provide producers, crop consultants and private applicators with valuable information they can use to make informed decisions in their operations,” said Travis Legleiter, UK weed scientist.

Clinic topics include fungicide spray application technology, economics of sprayer sizing, nozzle selection for herbicides, pulse width modulation and nozzle selection, weather conditions during spray applications and herbicide tank mixing and adjuvants.

The clinic will occur from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. CDT with lunch to follow.

Participants can register for the clinic at https://bit.ly/3qu1kgk. The cost to attend is $75, and the deadline to register is July 13.

Organizers have applied for continuing education units for Certified Crop Advisors and pesticide applicators.

KATS programs are a part of the UK Grain and Forage Center of Excellence’s mission to provide producers with timely, hands-on trainings throughout the growing season.
